چکیده
Abstract Precipitation data are useful for the management of water resources as well flood and drought events. However, precipitation monitoring is sparse often unreliable in regions with complicated geomorphology. Subsequently, spatial variability distribution frequently represented incorrectly. Satellite provide an attractive supplement to ground observations. satellite involve errors due complexity retrieval algorithms and/or presence obstacles that affect infrared observation capability. This work presents a methodology combines observations leading improved spatiotemporal mapping analysis precipitation. The applied based on space–time regression kriging. case study refers island Crete, Greece, time period 2010–2018. from 53 stations used combination images reference period. introduces approach mapping.

A Bayesian kriging approach for blending satellite and ground precipitation observations
Drought and flood management practices require accurate estimates of precipitation. Gauge observations, however, are often sparse in regions with complicated terrain, clustered in valleys, and of poor quality. Consequently, the spatial extent of wet events is poorly represented. Satellite-derived precipitation data are an attractive alternative, though they tend to underestimate the magnitude o...

Aims. We have analysed ground-based multi-colour Strömgren photometry and single-filter photometry from the star tracker on the satellite of the δ Scuti star ǫ Cephei. Methods. The ground-based data set consists of 16 nights of data collected over 164 days, while the satellite data are nearly continuous coverage of the star during 14 days. The spectral window and noise level of the satelli...
متن کاملGeostatistical Integration of Coarse Resolution Satellite Precipitation Products and Rain Gauge Data to Map Precipitation at Fine Spatial Resolutions
This paper investigates the benefits of integrating coarse resolution satellite-derived precipitation estimates with quasi-point rain gauge data for generating a fine spatial resolution precipitation map product. To integrate the two precipitation data sources, a geostatistical downscaling and integration approach is presented that can account for the differences in spatial resolution between d...
متن کاملEstimation of Mean Annual Precipitation in Wyoming Using Geostatistical Analysis
Precipitation is a function of many topographical land features as well as geographical locations. Spatial correlations between precipitation and topographical and geographical features can be used to improve estimation of precipitation distributions. In this study, kriging with external drift of topographical information was utilized for determining precipitation spatial distributions in Wyomi...

Extended abstract 1- Introduction In order to calculate the erosive power of rainfall, high-resolution precipitation data are necessary for rainfall erosion evaluation. However, collecting the required data on kinetic energy of the rainfall particles and precipitation rates with short-term temporal resolution is a time-intensive task, particularly in developing countries, and the collecte...
